Drinking from the firehose

This is our living room.  It's nice & spacious.
A week has gone by and we've been "drinking from the fire-hose" as they say.
Serving in Quality Control means we are part of many parts! Besides orientation meetings, we've attended the Ticket Takers Committee Mtg, the Luau Committee Mtg and Guest Services Committee Mtg.  Everyone is cheerful and full of Aloha.  They report on guest experiences that need to be improved and bend over backwards to make the guest experience a fantastic one. We are all Ohana (family).

We have also met with our own Strategic Planning and Development team (Quality Control).  We have a student from Thailand, Philippines, China & USA.

We've met with Pres. Grace, the PCC Pres. and Br. Moaina over Human Resources.  We've received our BYU-H ID badges and a PCC ID badge.  We've been fitted for our Aloha wear for when we help with guests in the evenings.

Here are our ID badges for PCC & BYU-H:

We were told in our training that the BYU motto "Enter to learn, Go forth to serve"
could have said "Enter to get an education" but they chose the word "learn"which
implies so much more.  The challenge to learn & serve represents the purpose
of our mortal lives.  We enter to learn about God & His ways,

to increase our testimony and grow closer to God.

It's fun to have "Polynesian Cultural Center"
on our missionary tags

These apple bananas and the tree blossom make a pretty decoration.
They are all yellow today.  Time to eat the decor!

We found ourselves in the PCC Employee Newsletter:

Beautiful sunrise from our window.

Sunset as we came home from Costco in Mililani
Here is the skateboard rack at the church.  We are
assigned to one of the YSA wards and so many
of the kids come on a skateboard!
I enjoyed a talk by a sister in the ward who spoke about accomplishing our goals.  She said we need to "educate our desires, move forward in faith and glory in the mystery of our future."  I liked that last part...to glory in the mystery of our future.  That is a fun way to say "trust in the Lord".

This is a new Ukulele exhibit in the PCC.

Today I went for a walk at the PCC before all the guests arrived.  So beautiful!
