The King and I in Laie

A few months ago we received a surprising invitation.  We were recruited to serve a mission at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie Hawaii and we have accepted the call. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve a second mission and excited to live in Laie where Chris grew up.

When people hear where we're going they exclaims "Oh poor you!  I guess somebody has to do it."  or "That sounds more like a vacation than a mission!"  ha ha.  But really, no matter how lovely a place it is, it's always hard to leave the comforts of home and especially loved ones and those sweet little grandkid hugs.

June 14, 2017            FITTING IT ALL IN

So many awesome things were fit into so little time in the weeks before we left.

                                              Mom's Happy Birthday:

Such a great gathering!

A Luau
at our house with my
adorable little primary class.
I invited them over to teach them about our mission call and
a little bit about Hawaii.

She is now a double black belt! (Tae Kwon Do & Hapkido)

Moving
We moved Andrea into her apartment and we moved our stuff into a storage unit:
What a huge help our family was! We're so very grateful for their loving service!

A Family reunion!
An amazing fun time at Hayden Lake.
We went kayaking, roasted marshmallows, made s'mores, sang songs around the campfire,
played games, talked, laughed, worked, played and helped each other.

Jarom kayaked into some beautiful lily pads
gathered a few flowers to give away. :)

Got up one morning to find eyeballs staring
at us from everywhere!!  Silly Sharilyn up to mischief.

Kaydances Elementary School Graduation
Kaydance's graduation from Elementary School!  (cutie pie in purple) They quoted Dr. Seuss
"Don't be sad that this chapter is over; smile because it happened."
I will embrace that message!

Silverwood:

Many years ago my little twins wanted to ride Dumbo in Disneyland but it was the
longest line in the park and they never got to ride.  Now all these years later
in Silverwood Idaho, a bucket list item is checked off!  Ha ha!
